Speaking of 24 Minutes…here’s an update;

The editing process is done and the book is now in the hands of the formatter.

If things go well it should be available by the end of next week sometime around March 10^th).

Since we are so close to the release of 24 Minutes – and thus the end of the free book give away…I’m going to up the ante…

Which Book is Free This Week? It’s (none of your) Unfinished Business!

If you’ve been paying attention you know that I have been giving away free books for the past two weeks (get caught up here and here) in anticipation of the release of my next novel 24 Minutes.

So far, I’ve made two books available for free download – Blood in the Water and Backseat to Justice.

Both of these books are from my Steve Salem collection.

Steve Salem is a former Boston cop now working as a Private Investigator in Flagler Beach, Florida. For some strange reason Steve and his partner Val Casey seem to stumble across some very unusual cases, and they usually end up recruiting the services of Ike.

Ike – for the uninitiated in the audience – is the main character in almost all of my books. He is an ex-Navy SEAL now living in Flagler Beach and in the employ of local bookie Ralph Donabedian.

Ike has been described as Robin Hood on a Harley (not my description, but one that I thoroughly approve of!).

As I said – Ike is the main character in most of my novels – as well as the subject of a collection of short stories. However…this week’s giveaway will feature the only book I’ve written which doesn’t include Ike at all.

That book is…

 

Unfinished Business.

 

Unfinished Business is the story of Meg Seabury, a mortician who is inexplicably tasked with carrying out the final thoughts of the bodies she embalms.

It’s a cross between my usual stories and The Twilight Zone.

A #ValentinesDay gift from Ike – #FREEbooks

As I mentioned in a previous post – 2017 was the first year since 2009 in which I didn’t release a book, and I feel pretty bad about that so here’s what I’m going to do…

I will be giving away a free book each week until 24 Minutes is released.

Starting off the giving is a Valentine’s Day present from Ike…

This isn’t Ike…it’s actor Anson Mount – but he’ll be my first choice to play Ike in the movies!

Blood in the Water #FREE This Weekend

The 89^th Academy Awards Ceremony – that’s the Oscars to you and me – will take place this Sunday and in celebration of this momentous occasion I am making my latest novel Blood in the Water available for FREE download all weekend!

What is the connection between Blood in the Water and the Oscars you ask?

Well, in addition to being the basis for a future Best Picture Winner, it has loads of connections!!!

First, the main character in the story is named Bob Oscarson, but he goes by the nickname Oscar.

Not enough for you?

How about this…in the story there are sharks – and as we all know Jaws (a movie about a shark) won 3 Oscars…Best Sound, Best Film Editing and Best Music. It was also nominated for Best Picture, but lost to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. (Damn you Jack Nicholson).

 

The Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy has interviewed Oprah Winfrey on his show, and Oprah once hosted a famous book club – so there’s that. (We won’t get into how she never promoted one of my books…)

Blood in the Water is a novel, and many Oscar winning movies have been based on novels.

Blood in the Water is FREE this weekend (I may have already mentioned that) and you can watch the Oscars for free as well!
